About the role

The Manager Quality and Risk is responsible for supporting a positive quality improvement culture, underpinned by effective quality and risk management frameworks. The position is the key point of contact and provides knowledge and support the wider organisation.

The position supports the lead of accreditation processes, provides specialist advice and monitors accreditation cycles and processes. In addition, the position oversees and supports quality improvement initiatives, risk management processes, protocols and guidelines across Safe Steps.

About you

You must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated high-level working knowledge and understanding of the QIC, HSS and Rainbow Tick standards and accreditation processes, including experience in leading a community-based organisation through accreditation processes
  • Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation and monitoring of quality, safety and risk management systems
  • Demonstrated experience in working with across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in high level report writing for an executive or governance level audience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise risk management processes and the hierarchy of controls that drive these
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field
  • Demonstrable skills in project management and change management
  • A strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal, facilitation and consultation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the executive team, leadership team, internal and external stakeholders and staff
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills which meet the target audience needs, including the ability to plan, develop, and deliver, clear and comprehensive reports and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders; practice sound consultancy services for the executive team on a range of quality and development issues; and build strong internal and external networks
  • Commitment to the living expression of Safe Steps values; Courageous, Feminist, Empowering, Inclusive, Respectful, Reflective
  • Expertise in developing and implementing initiatives to foster capability and innovation
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence, a current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a National Police Check
  • Completed Covid 19 vaccinations

Safe Steps is the only 24/7, family violence response centre in Victoria, providing a “state-wide entry point” for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. Services include information and referral, crisis response, specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning, Webchat, and access to supported crisis accommodation.
