Even if you only meet some of the criteria, we'd love to hear from you.
Carer Gateway was first introduced in 2015 as a website and phone line to help carers find and access support to help them in their caring role. With the Australian Government's commitment to continue improving carer services, an extensive four-year consultation process with carers and the sector was undertaken.
This process found that the best way to support carers is to help them early in their caring role. Through a range of tailored supports and services, carers can be supported to manage their daily challenges, reduce stress, plan for the future and ultimately improve their wellbeing. This resulted in an updated Carer Gateway service model, which is what it is today. The full Carer Gateway service was introduced in a two-phased approach from July 2019.
The Carer Gateway Brokered Service Engagement Officer role ensures supply of services is adequate to meet the demand created by carers accessing the Carer Gateway. This position is responsible for generating leads which convert to registered providers in alignment with the identified needs of unpaid carers looking to access brokered services funded through the Carer Gateway Service.
Working alongside the Carer Gateway Service Provider Registration Officer, the Brokered Service Engagement Officer is also responsible for maintaining existing relationships with the Wellways Carer Gateway community of registered providers through the delivery of forums, workshops, and by providing key operational updates across a variety of mediums to ensure high quality brokered services are accessible to Carers which aligns to relevant Wellways values and policies, and complies with the Carer Support Framework, and state and federal legislation.
Wellways connects people, strengthens families, and transforms communities for individuals of all ages experiencing disabilities or challenges to their social and emotional wellbeing. A leading for purpose mental health and disability support organisation operating nationally, our services span mental health, disability and community care and reach more than 7000 people each year!
