To further our purpose and strategic ambitions, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Director Lived Experience to lead the development and implementation of our Lived and Living Experience Strategy across all aspects of our organisation.

About the opportunity

The Director Lived Experience ensures that the voices of lived and living experience are central to our strategy, governance, operations, workforce, business development, recruitment, quality, and evaluation.

This newly created position reports directly to the CEO and is a key member of the executive team. Working closely with the Lived and Living Experience Authority, the Board, as well as a range of internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will lead and coordinate this pivotal strategy.

Some key deliverables and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lived Experience Strategy Development
  • Change Management
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Coproduction and Codesign Processes
  • Inform Peer Workforce Development
  • Team Leadership
  • Project Management

To thrive in this role, you:

  • Have publicly disclosed personal lived experience of mental health challenges, with demonstrated lived experience expertise suitable for an executive role.
  • Have equivalent experience or a relevant tertiary qualifications (minimum 5 years).
  • Provide examples of your leadership experience within an executive team, particularly in periods of significant organisational change.
  • Demonstrate your understanding of discrimination and importance of the inclusion of a diverse range of voices.

Other essential requirements

  • Right to work within Australia
  • Current valid Driver's Licence and the ability to undertake some travel
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check
