Wellways Australia is currently recruiting for Family Peer Cadets to join our Mental Health Wellbeing Connect Centres across South-West Victoria. A key recommendation from the Victorian Royal Commission into Mental Health is that this service is designed and delivered by people with a personal lived experience of carer giving. The program will commence end of August 2023.

Successful Family Peer Cadets will benefit from the fantastic opportunity Wellways Australia has to offer which includes:

  • Being a part of a 12-month program, whereby you will gain work experience in the Mental Health Wellbeing Connect Centres.
  • Utilise your personal lived or living experience of supporting a person with mental illness, including people with co-occurring substance use or addiction, to support family members, carers and supporters of the Mental Health Wellbeing Connect Centre services.
  • Receive on-going support and coaching from our Senior Family Peer Workers and the team
  • Receive a comprehensive and engaging on-boarding experience
  • Receive on-the-job training, feedback and on-going development
  • Being a part of a purpose driven culture where people can thrive, everyone is respected, and differences are valued.

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate - free online course
