About the opportunity

This lived experience community support position will provide assistance to the National Manager Advocacy and Lived Experience Leadership in the implementation of the Lived experience strategic plan.

Operating in a dynamic environment, this role will primarily focus on the provision of:

  • proactive community engagement supporting the Lived Experience Coproduction and Community Engagement Lead
  • admin related support to the Lived and Living Experience Authority
  • support and implementation of the Victorian Locals Consumer and Carer Councils.

The role will involve a variety of work activities and key to the success will be the ability to effectively prioritise work outputs and manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders.

Mentoring will be provided to the role in governance and effective community engagement.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant Lived Experience plus appropriate community engagement experience
  • At least one year experience in a designated lived experience role
  • Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work, SHARC Peer Worker Training, Intentional Peer Support, Consumer Perspective Supervision or willingness to complete
  • LELAN LEDGE Lived Experience in Governance Course or willingness to complete
  • Coproduction or codesign Training or willingness to complete
  • Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake regular travel including regional travel, overnight stays and conferences
  • High-level interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage with people at all levels
  • Ability to manage tasks, set priorities, organise work and achieve objectives within timelines and budget
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Right to Work within Australia
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Completion Certificate
