About the opportunity

This is an opportunity you will want to be part of, as we offer a rare opening for a Program Manager at our Maroondah Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) service.

As our new PARC Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary, recovery-led mental health team in collaboration with our clinical partners and ensuring smooth day to day operations within the 10 bed residential site. You will also have operational oversight in the areas of quality improvement/service delivery performance, service development, including program design, development and evaluation, financial performance, human resources management and effective allocation of resources.

With the support of the Regional Manager, East Melbourne, this role will form part of the Regional Leadership Team and will have the opportunity to provide input into regional planning and service development and will be working with the team along with other key stakeholders towards the ongoing development and effective implementation of both program and regional plans.

About the program

PARC is a step-down and step-up sub-acute mental health service for those living within the local region. PARC is located in a community setting and provide an option for people who are becoming unwell, or who are in the early stages of recovery from an acute illness and need a short period of additional support to strengthen their gains from spending time in an inpatient setting and to consolidate their community transition and recovery treatment plans.

The PARC service is delivered in collaboration with Eastern Health, who provide the clinical support onsite, including psychiatric consultations, nursing and allied health support.

The program is staffed 24/7 and includes day, afternoon and sleepover shifts. Within the program, our Recovery teams offer an engaging program of 1:1 support, activities and a range of groups daily to up to 10 participants who stay for between 2-4 weeks.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in a social science or related discipline
  • At least 2+ years in people management within mental health, community sector or similar field
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to support effective program operations and initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop reports and participate in public speaking and formal presentations
  • An understanding of the biopsychosocial model of mental health and social inclusion
  • Ability to establish effective and open partnerships and develop trusting relationships
  • Current valid Driver's Licence and the ability to undertake some travel
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia
  • Evidence of, or a willingness to undergo a National Police Records Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • COVID-19 Digital Certificate with booster or valid medical exemption
