The Murrumbidgee Region has traditionally been a fast growing and dynamic service catchment, spanning major diverse regional and rural areas across approximately 124,000 square kilometres.

At present, the region hosts a blend of psychosocial and suicide prevention programs funded by the NSW Ministry of Health and the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network. In addition, the region has a growing Consumer Directed Services including NDIS, icare and private brokerage arrangements. We are very proud of our community development and engagement work and this has been an integral part and main driver of the regions positive growth.

About the opportunity

The Regional Manager Murrumbidgee position is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective delivery of our Specialist Mental Health services within our Murrumbidgee region.

As the Regional Manager, you will work in close collaboration and lead a fully committed team to support the participants utilising Wellways programs. Manage the delivery of high quality, innovative and responsive mental health and disability services to maximise opportunities for people with mental health issues and other disabilities, and their families to fully participate in community and attain physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen eye for continuous improvement, management skills and a positive, can do attitude.

Some of the key functions will include:

  • Nurturing and developing a capable and committed team in the region
  • Providing leadership in the management and development of best practice service delivery across all Wellways programs in the region
  • Ensuring that regional financial objectives are met
  • Leading business development and service growth within the region, including winning new business through competitive tendering
  • Developing Wellways' profile and presence in the region as a specialist mental health and disability services provider
  • Drive and support our Reconciliation Action Plan

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a social science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in strong leadership and project management
  • Ability to undertake any travel requirements
  • An understanding and demonstrated commitment to social inclusion and diversity
  • The ability to operationalise strategic goals and measure performance
  • Prior experience working within a health care sector
  • A minimum of three years' management experience
  • Current valid Driver's Licence
  • Evidence of the Right to work in Australia
  • Evidence of, or a willingness to undergo a National Police Records Check, Working with Children Check-employment, NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate and NDIS Workers Screening Check.
