About the role
The Communications & Engagement Manager has a unique opportunity to share the Purple House story with a diverse range of audiences, and to build strategic relationships which enhance the work of the organisation and expand its networks and support. Working closely with our CEO to maintain the brand of this award winning organisation is a one of a kind opportunity, working with fantastic colleagues across 23 sites and a Board of Pintupi Luritja Directors as your big bosses.
Opportunities abound for creative and innovative projects that celebrate the art, culture and families of our communities, including through content creation and campaigns on our communication channels.
Nurturing new and existing partnerships and donors provides exciting opportunities for advocacy as well as developing critical support for the delivery and sustainability of services within Purple House’s unique model of care.
Key focus points:
- Develop and implement communications strategies which strengthen the work of Purple House.
- Manage public facing communication channels, assets and content development.
- Lead media engagement and the development of marketing materials and campaigns.
- Deliver development activities which secure financial and in-kind support through fundraising, grants and partnerships.
- Represent Purple House externally and lead good practice in engagement and relationship management.
- Work with our Social Enterprise team to grow brand awareness and support business activities.
- Provide expert advice and support to the CEO and management team colleagues.
About you:
- Relevant work experience and skills, including 8+ years in a related senior role.
- Critical thinker who is strategic, creative and innovative.
- Strong leadership capabilities and a deep commitment to culture and community.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills underpinned by a commitment to cultural safety.
- Collaborative working style, superior organisational skills and ability to think on your feet.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building experience.
- Experience delivering high impact projects and campaigns.
- High level of competency with digital communication tools and capacity to adapt to new systems and environments.
- Experience working for an Aboriginal organisation and/or experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Current National Criminal History check (less than 6 months old).
- Covid19 vaccination (2 jabs + 1 booster).
- Unrestricted driver license to be able to drive in the NT.
What we offer:
- Purple House is a registered not for profit with excellent salary packaging options with Community Business Bureau (CBB) – dependent on individual circumstances – per FBT year.
- Up to $15,899 for most formal loans/debts.
- Up to $15,899 remote locality (rent/mortgage/utilities).
- Salary package up to $2,650 on meal, entertainment and holiday accommodation.
- Additional items covered under Salary Packaging by CBB.
- Study leave after 12 months.
- Relocation allowance up to $5000 for eligible (successful) applications.
6 weeks annual leave, 3 Special leave days and other generous leave entitlements.
