WHOS New Beginnings is a women’s only AOD residential service, located within the beautiful grounds of Broughton Hall Lilyfield. Information on WHOS services can be found at whos.com.au.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic woman to fill this part time AOD Support Worker position.

This is a woman’s only position. Being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification under Section 31 of the NSW Anti- Discrimination Act.

Essential:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in AOD/Community Services/Mental Health or relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in working with AOD clients.
  • A desire to work with women and an understanding of their related issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Available to work evening and weekend shifts as required.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Computer skills especially with MS Word and Excel
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain same

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model or residential AOD services.
  • Group work skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation.
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders such as GP/medical clinics, withdrawal management services, community services and allied referral agencies.

Please note for this position you must have the right to work in Australia and provide a current National Police clearance.

Remuneration is Negotiable based on qualifications and experience equivalent to SCHADSI Award Level 4. Salary sacrificing is available.
