About the Opportunity

We Help Ourselves (WHOS) services located in QLD and NSW provide a range of programs for individuals who are seeking treatment for alcohol and other drug dependence.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated AOD Worker to join our multidisciplinary team at our Residential Service, Najara on the Sunshine Coast.

About us

WHOS is a leader in AOD services with over 52 years of experience providing therapeutic programs aimed at reducing the harm caused by alcohol and other substance use disorders, while incorporating harm reduction and co-existing mental health support.

We provide residential treatment programs known as therapeutic communities or TCs, as well as community-based day programs offering support and care. What you’ll be doing

  • Provide AOD assessments, referral, and education within a psychosocial setting
  • Supervising and supporting clients in a residential setting
  • Implementing a structured daily program
  • Facilitation of groups
  • Providing therapeutic interventions

About you

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or other relevant qualifications.
  • Experience with or capacity to work with clients that have AOD use disorders and associated conditions. Ideally within the TC model of care.
  • Knowledge of and capacity to implement harm reduction strategies
  • Available to work shiftwork, evenings and weekends (note: evening shift includes a sleepover).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to facilitate groups.
  • Right to work in Australia and be willing to provide a current National Police Check.

Remuneration - SCHADSI Award Level 4 Pay Point depending on experience.
