Are you a Registered Nurse with knowledge of or experienced in the Alcohol and other Drug/Mental Health or Community Health fields and looking to expand your career?

Are you interested in being part of the WHOS Southern NSW Goulburn team providing health care support in a residential AOD Therapeutic Community program?

WHOS® (We Help Ourselves) services are based in NSW and QLD and provide treatment services for clients who are experiencing difficulties with AOD dependence.

We will consider full time or part time applicants, and are looking for experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Registered Nurse/s to join our multidisciplinary team at our SNSW Services based in Goulburn.

  • Review prospective clients medical and mental health care needs
  • Ongoing review of current clients medical and mental health care needs
  • Liaison with WHOS Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Manager (both based in Lilyfield)
  • The position will liaise with community agencies including local GP’s, mental health services and withdrawal management services to coordinate care for WHOS clients ensuring a holistic approach from admission to discharge.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse current AHPRA
  • Current drivers’ licence

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working with client’s AOD and/or mental health conditions
  • Experience in health assessment and relevant referral procedures
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop cooperative relationships with local GPs, mental health services, other AOD services and other health agencies
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with minimal supervision
  • Computer literacy, word processing and data management skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, includes the capacity to effectively communicate with allied agencies and health care professionals
  • Experience in or knowledge of withdrawal management processes
  • Knowledge of resources and networks available in the local community
