With a combined history spanning almost 50 years, Windana is committed to making a positive impact. And this is where you come in!

The opportunity

The AOD Support Worker will be to help to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to participate in the AOD withdrawal program.

You'll assist with the admission and discharge process, orientation, medications, provide support to residents attending off-site appointments and visits and provide general help and support to clients during the program.

This is a role that has a big impact. You'll witness the hard work our clients put in to change their lives for the better. You'll get to make a real difference to the lives of young people, whilst being supported and guided by a team of experienced Windana Clinicians who really care.

What we're looking for:

  • You will have experience working in a clinical setting or similar environment delivering a consistent model of care within the sector of alcohol and other drugs, mental health or community service.
  • You'll need to know how to set and maintain good boundaries - with clients, colleagues and yourself. What we do isn't always easy, so taking care of yourself is most important!
  • You'll be comfortable working to a structure, but have the capacity to be flexible and navigate the unexpected.
  • You'll be able to think on your feet, problem solve and handle pressure.
  • You'll have a genuine desire to support people in making a positive difference to their lives with excellent communications skills.
  • You'll be reliable, resilient, persistent and non-judgmental.
  • Ideally you will have qualifications in a health-related discipline (e.g., social work, youth work, mental health, psychology or similar).
  • You must be willing to undertake a Certificate IV in AOD or AOD Skill Set with us in the first year of employment.
