Reporting directly to the CFO as a member of the broader Finance & IT team, the Manager Financial Operations provides financial leadership and direction within our Finance Operations. This role is pivotal to the financial success of the organisation and will make a direct contribution to shaping the growth and community impact of Windana.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Head Office in St Kilda.

The Manager Financial Operations brings a collaborative style and innovative thinking. The role is responsible for providing timely financial and management information and insights to the senior management and Board, managing banking facilities, and leading the delivery of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll functions. This position will lead the planning and interactions with external auditors, preparation of the annual financial statements and contribute to the strategic achievements and budgetary outcomes of Windana.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a mixed-discipline finance team along with a good understanding of Community based, non-for-profit organisations.

With respect to all Financial Operations, this role will have an oversight of:

General Operations

  • Preparation of financial statement (monthly, quarterly and annual)
  • Accurate reporting of revenue and
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Leadership and stakeholders in Finance, Payroll, IT, and People & Culture as well as external auditors

Quality Assurance

  • Promote and monitor compliance with legislative, regulatory and industry code requirements within Finance and Payroll.
  • Ensure risk management strategies are implemented.

Payroll

  • Oversee and manage fortnightly payroll process.
  • Provide guidance and professional advise payroll related queries.
  • Lead payroll projects as identified or deemed necessary.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Prepare annual budget and related forecasts.
  • Manage financial performance within budgets.
  • Cash forecasting and revenue reporting.
  • Work with Asset, Property and Maintenance Management on reporting financial data.

General Administration

  • Oversee Salary Packaging.
  • Produce high quality report for Executive and Board of Directors.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience and successful track record in a comparable role, managing Finance and Payroll.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance and full membership of either CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants ANZ.
  • Experience with AP&AR including vendor payments, reconciliation and collection.
  • Experience in managing end-to-end payroll functions.
