About the program

Our Youth Services arm brings together a suite of Alcohol and Other Drug and wellbeing support services, education, engagement, early intervention and group-based interventions to support vulnerable young people. Services and programs are delivered across Victoria with the Youth withdrawal service, WYCH (Windana Youth and Community Service), being accessible to clients across the state. With programs including, Navigator, Reset Life, Pivot, Moorabbin Youth Hub and WYCH, the portfolio acknowledges that Housing, Education, Employment, Life Skills and Social Connection are essential elements to support a young person.

And this is where you come in!

Windana has recently launched an exciting new senior leadership structure which will see the appointment of a Head of Youth Services, reporting directly to the COO. The role will oversee our Youth Services function across four locations in the South East of Melbourne.

With significant experience overseeing programs that support vulnerable people with complex needs, you will influence the strategic direction and decision making of our Youth programs, maintaining and developing collaborative stakeholder partnerships that will lead to positive outcomes for young people.

Our ideal candidate will have significant experience in management and leadership roles, with the ability to deliver high performing outcome focused programs. Some of the responsibilities of the role are to

  • Shape and lead trauma informed, customer-centric program excellence across Youth Services, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and client outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Take charge of workforce strategies and frameworks across Youth Services, fostering workforce excellence and shaping the direction of talent development and high performance within the site or area.
  • Collaborates at a sector level, shaping best practices and policies related to client care

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in a senior management role, overseeing programs that support vulnerable people with complex needs (preferably in Youth Services, similar backgrounds will be considered)
  • Knowledge and significant experience working within Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health or Community services
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgets and acquittals along with experience in financial management of operations (proven P&L responsibility of no less than $5M)
  • Capacity and willingness to work flexibly, including travelling across the four locations as required
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Services or related field and post graduate studies in AOD.
