Bushfire Recovery Community Engagement Worker - East Gippsland

Our new Bushfire Recovery Community Engagement Worker will play a key role in creatively engaging with vulnerable and isolated bushfire impacted residents in East Gippsland. This role will play a critical part in connecting to individuals hesitant to engage with traditional recovery support programs and assist them to connect to individualised recovery supports that work for them.

We currently have a Part-time, Fixed term role (0.6 FTE) until June 2022, based in the East Gippsland area. As our Bushfire Recovery Community Engagement Worker, you will be instrumental in working with a diverse range of community partners, especially in isolated townships, to tap into and add value to grassroots level community activities.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • At least 2-3 years experience within the community sector in a trauma related area;
  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, social welfare or relevant and related discipline;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of community engagement activities;
  • A solid understanding of trauma informed case management practice.
