About the opportunity:

Our devoted and passionate Family Violence and Homelessness Support Services program supports victim survivors of family violence within the Casey and Cardinia regions.

The program provides client-centred support to victim survivors to work through their emotional, practical and immediate safety needs and empower them to live a safe and independent life free from violence. As an experienced and qualified Family Violence Worker, you will join an established team of like-minded individuals who thrive working within a values driven organisation.

To be successful for this role, you will possesS:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Family Violence sector (preferred), Homelessness or Welfare Sectors.
  • Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Social Welfare, Community Services, or related discipline.
  • Ability to complete family violence assessments and safety planning and integrate these into support planning with consumers.
  • Ability to provide case management to victim survivors in line with DFFH and Family Safety Victoria service standards and models of support.
  • High level of understanding of the complex needs and supports available to families including the impact of family violence, homelessness and other stressors on children and families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and Child Information Sharing Scheme, Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Victorian Housing and Homelessness Systems.
  • Able to support consumers to access safe and secure housing outcome.

This is a four-day / week, 12 month maternity leave contract position based in Pakenham. This position will form a vital part of the Family Violence & Homelessness Support Services team with a flexible/hybrid working model available working both from home and onsite from our Head Office in Narre Warren / Pakenham, with occasional co-location at other Windermere locations for client sessions, meetings and other functions will be expected. Evidence of full vaccination status is essential.
