For 35 years, WIRES has been actively rescuing, rehabilitating and preserving Australian wildlife and inspiring others to do the same. 

After the devastating bushfires and drought in 2020, and facing an extinction crisis, our mission has become even more critical. We are building our team to scale up our work and make an even greater impact for Australian Wildlife, and we are looking for someone ready to make a real difference.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have ambitious plans for increasing our impact for Australian Wildlife and expanding our national reach, so we are looking for an equally ambitious individual to come on board at this exciting time.

This key role is focused on delivering WIRES Australia’s Marketing and Fundraising programs, increasing supporter income and engagement, brand awareness, and servicing the marketing and communication needs of the organisation in order to expand our rescue, care and education services.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a diverse portfolio, including everything from Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Philanthropy and Bequests to Digital Fundraising, Social Media and a growing Regular Giving program.

ABOUT YOU

With a strong background in fundraising, you are comfortable leading teams at a strategic level while also jumping into the detail where needed. You have a strong track record creating and delivering engaging omni-channel campaigns and executing revenue growth strategies.

You understand the importance of brand and marketing to a successful fundraising program and you are committed to bringing WIRES supporters an engaging experience cross-channel.

You make data-led decisions and know how to optimise and prioritise programs that generate the best return.

Above all, you have a passion for wildlife and for building and developing teams.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Minimum 5 years relevant management experience across multiple programs, with a demonstrated track record of success growing fundraising income and developing growth strategies
  • Strong leadership skills, demonstrated experience building engaged and collaborative teams united around mission
  • Demonstrated acumen in financial and budget management, proven ability to interpret financial data to provide strategic advice
  • Proven skills and experience in strategic and resource planning, goal setting and project management
