Nomination Committee Member (Voluntary)

The WIRES Nomination Committee’s role is to assess and recommend the appointment of external Board Directors.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the Committee for a term of up to three (3) years. The time commitment for this role is initially 6 hours a week from November 2024 until January 2025. As of January 2025 to November 2027 the commitment is 40 hours per year.

WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation. WIRES has been rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned native animals for over 35 years, and our mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.

About the Nominations Committee

WIRES has been working towards a change of governance for some years and has recently been registered as a Company. The Nominations Committee is newly formed under a recently adopted constitution and will support WIRES to identify, assess and recommend four external Board Directors, ensuring that the board has the necessary skills, diversity and governance capabilities to support the organisation’s strategic direction and legal obligations.
