About the program

Wesley Aunties & Uncles provides wrap-around support to children and young people in out of home care, as well as their birth families and foster carers. We are a Specialised Substitute Residential Care (SSRC) provider and support service of the Wesley Dalmar team. Wesley Dalmar offer adoption, permanent, temporary, and respite care, restoration to birth family, as well as a variety of supports to help children reach their potential.

About the role

Wesley Aunties & Uncles offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to a professional wanting to make a difference in the lives of children in OOHC. Wesley Aunties & Uncles is a wraparound support service and the Case Manager will be responsible for matching volunteer mentors to children in OOHC. This includes recruitment, assessment, training and case management.

Essential:

  • Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Social Welfare, Psychology or related discipline
  • Flexibility. Working hours include some evenings and weekends
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence as travel is required
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports to a professional standard

Child protection legislation requires preferred applicants to be subject to employment screening.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Out of Home Care, mentoring programs and working with Volunteers
  • Previous employment with children and families
  • Experience in case management
  • Experience in facilitating training and conducting assessments.

Remuneration

Wesley Mission provides regular supervision and support for all staff and opportunities for professional development. Salary and conditions of employment are based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award with generous salary packaging opportunities.
