Wesley Mission is a prominent, multifaceted Christian organisation dedicated to making a tangible impact in the community. With over 200 services ranging from aged care to homeless support, child and family care, counselling, employment, training, education, and health services, we are committed to our vision: “Doing all the good we can because every life matters.”
In 1963, while led by Reverend Dr Sir Alan Walker, Wesley Mission established Lifeline. Since then, the Lifeline movement has grown significantly. It is now Australia’s largest national phone support service, answering over a million calls a year.
As one of the 40 accredited Lifeline Australia Centres, Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland is owned and operated by Wesley Mission and supports more than 30,000 people annually through its 13 11 14 crisis support service. The Centre continues to grow its volunteer base and existing suite of support services within the community.
The Centre is one of several programs supported and operated under Wesley Mission’s suicide prevention branch, central to the broader Vision of Wesley Mission.
The Lifeline Administration Officer provides daily operational and team support in line with business plans and objectives.
Reporting to the Group Manager, the successful applicant will focus on maintaining our volunteer communications including monitoring generic email inboxes, social media channels and newsletters, providing administrative support to the Quality, Practice and Supervision Lead and the Training, Assessment & Accreditation Lead.
The position is situated at our CBD site, 220 Pitt Street, Sydney, but you may be required to attend our Sutherland site occasionally.
Wesley Mission is a Christian organisation requiring all staff to affirm its values and Worker code of conduct. We are committed to providing an environment in which children can feel safe and valued.
The suitable applicant will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks for appointment to positions within Wesley Mission (including provision of a valid Working with Children Check clearance number). Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
