About the role

An exciting opportunity exists within Wesley Service Development Team for an enthusiastic individual who has an interest in working with NDIS participants in the delivery of coordination of supports identified in their NDIS Plan. We are seeking a creative, well-organised person with natural leadership and strong team work skills. You will be highly adaptable and an excellent communicator. You will apply your enthusiasm, positivity and empathy as you work with people and their families to imagine and build better lives for people with disabilities.

To be successful in this role, you will work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team. You are excellent at building supportive relationships with customers and the broader community and you contribute ideas to improve the community's capacity.

This role will be to provide NDIS participants support to understand their NDIS Plan and help participants choose and connect with service providers as well as to explore and link participants with community and mainstream services and help coordinate these as required.

Essential criteria

  • Qualifications and/or experience in Disability, Social Work, Education, Leisure and Recreation, or related behavioural science
  • A sound understanding of and commitment to person centred and strengths-based practice in working with adults and/or children with disabilities
  • Highly developed written, verbal, interpersonal and service collaboration skills including the ability to communicate openly and effectively with people and/or children with multiple and complex needs
  • Capacity to monitor service provision within budgetary requirements and contribute to the budget development process
  • High-level problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to operate independently and professionally with limited supervision with a high level of organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to achieve outcomes for individuals
  • Demonstrated experience of contemporary service provision to people with disabilities
  • Willingness to undertake employment screening appropriate to the role
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows environment.

Remuneration

The salary range for this position and condition will be in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. Generous salary packaging available.
