About the opportunity

As the HSP (Humanitarian Settlement Program) Case Management Support Worker, you will provide support to new arrivals (refugees and humanitarian entrants) including day to day orientation of accessing local services and understanding client’s rights and responsibilities. 

In this role, you will work collaboratively with and alongside the HSP Case Managers and Housing Worker to support holistic and strengths-based case planning, including assisting with and providing information and referrals to services.

About you

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Cert IV in Community Services or other relevant community or welfare related qualification, or a Diploma in Community Services is desirable
  • Fluency in Arabic language (mandatory)
  • Current Driver’s License valid for Victoria
  • Demonstrated experience in community services sector is desirable.
  • Experience in providing support to clients from CALD background in the areas of settlement, community detention, asylum seeker programs, community health or related area in the context of new and emerging refugee communities is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Strengths Based Model in practice with clients.
  • Proficiency with IT softwares such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and ability to use Internet and e-mail
