About your new role

This is a great opportunity to help identify and address gaps in local suicide prevention systems across the Wimmera Grampians region.

Your key focus will be on improving care coordination and service pathways for those at risk of suicidal ideation, attempted suicide, or those bereaved by suicide.

You will provide clinical oversight, senior clinical leadership, and supervision for Step Thru Care clinicians, especially those supporting at-risk consumers. Additionally, you will actively develop and implement community-based suicide prevention activities.

About the service

Step Thru Care is an integrated Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) support service available to support people with low-level needs to mild and severe mental health issues and or AOD support needs.

Uniting works in partnership with Grampians Community Health to deliver Step Thru Care services in the Wimmera Grampians region.

What you will bring

  • A tertiary qualification in Clinical Psychology and registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
  • A current driver’s licence valid in Victoria.
  • Extensive experience working in mental health, ideally in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, or with high-risk populations.
  • Proven experience in working with clients experiencing suicidal ideation, attempted suicide, or those bereaved by suicide.
  • Familiarity with community-based suicide prevention frameworks and interventions.
  • Experience in care coordination, developing service pathways, and improving systems for at-risk populations.
