Whether you are an experienced youth worker or recently qualified and starting your career, we’d love to hear from you.
As our Detour Coach, you will focus on providing early intervention and prevention services. Using a strengths-based approach, you will help young people in the Greater Shepparton and Moira areas to develop the skills and resources they need to reach their full potential.
With your support, young people will commit to an integrated plan that creates a pathway to successful independence and connects them to their families and the community. It’s all about the right support at the right time.
Our Detour program is an early intervention program for young people aged 12-24 years and their families. The initiative aims to address potential homelessness in young people. We do this by providing intensive wrap-around coaching with individualised intensive support packages.
We are a small team, collocated with our Uniting colleagues in our brand-new office space in Maude Street Shepparton. Great work environment and lots of networking opportunities.
The role is part-time (0.8 FTE), with a maximum term of 30 June 2025, and we are flexible on days, except for Tuesday when we all get together in the office. We’d also consider shorter hours across 5 days if that works for you.
In addition to your base hourly rate of $43.08 and superannuation, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and the ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits, which can be used for living expenses such as groceries, bills, clothing, streaming services, and much more.
With our meal entertainment benefit of $2,650 annually, you can save on dining out and drinks, making the most of your pre-tax dollars. At Uniting, you can access the following:
You will work with people who care as much as you about helping young people reach their potential. You will also bring with you:
