About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our Newpin Program based at Doveton on a part time, maximum term basis, 4 days per week until January 2026. Newpin (New Parent and Infant Network) is an intensive parent education program that works therapeutically with families with children 0–5 years who are under stress to break the cycle of destructive family behaviour and enhance parent-child relationships.

As a Newpin Support Worker, you will work closely with the Play Facilitator and other members of Newpin’s multidisciplinary team to provide high quality care services to children and their carers. The role will assist with setting up play spaces, engaging in therapeutic play and developmental opportunities for children and supporting the development of strong parent-child relationships.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Diploma qualification in Early Childhood or a related discipline.

You will also have:

• Knowledge of and experience within the early childhood development and/or child, youth and family welfare sectors
• Proven ability to engage and build rapport with children and families while also maintaining clear boundaries
• Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents/carers and other stakeholders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Current first aid and CPR certificates
