About the opportunity

The Team Leader - Family Services leads family support workers and practitioners within an integrated team of professionals. The position is based at our Ballarat office and supports a team in both Ballarat and Horsham locations. The Team Leader brings experience and an understanding of practice supervision, people leadership, quality and service improvement to facilitate and ensure the delivery of effective, high-quality services and outcomes to clients.

Team Leader is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations, supervision and reporting in line with service agreements and organisational expectation and will assist to develop and lead a highly competent, engaged and passionate professional team.

What’s on offer

Full-time, permanent position based in Horsham or Ballarat servicing central highlands and Wimmera. Travel is required in this position.

In addition to a base salary and superannuation, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and an ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits.

There is also the option to increase your annual leave entitlements through our purchase leave program. You will have access to paid parental leave for up to 10 weeks and can receive a 10% discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee when using a Uniting Early Learning service or centre.

About you

We are looking for the successful applicant to role model positive culture, and continuously develop effective time management to support the dynamic team environment and the ability to lead the team through change.

You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work or community development
  • Relevant experience in a human services, welfare or social services role
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of casework services in the health or welfare sector
  • Proven experience in leading and developing a diverse, engaged and cross-functional workforce focused on delivery of client outcomes
  • Demonstrated staff supervision and leadership skills and ability to deal with challenging clients and complex issues
  • Program management and community development experience.
