The Impact Manager will help take Women Onside to the next level in fulfilling its purpose of advancing women in football everywhere in Australia.

As our first executive role, the Impact Manager will have considerable autonomy in shaping the role in alignment with our strategic plan.

With the growth of women’s football in Australia, supercharged by last year’s Women’s World Cup, we see considerable growth potential for Women Onside – and want an experienced leader to drive our impact within the game.

This role is remote and can be undertaken anywhere in Australia. It is offered on a 0.4-1.0 FTE basis, depending on the preferences of the successful applicant.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking or overseeing research and policy work to underpin advocacy for positive and systemic change for women in football.
  • Maintaining and building our relationships with key stakeholders, including governing bodies, governments, associations and clubs and other NGOs.
  • Representing Women Onside in media commentary and advocacy.
  • Overseeing the delivery of our signature professional development offerings, including our Mentoring Program, the Women in Football Leadership Conference and Getting on Board Masterclass series, and expanding our offerings with content, online learning, webinars and in-person meet-up opportunities.
  • Seeking funding opportunities, through membership growth, philanthropic donations, government grants and income-generating activities to build organisational sustainability.
  • Enhancing relationships and collaboration with international counterparts, bilaterally and through the Women in Football Global Alliance.
  • Coordinating input and activities from the volunteer board, members and partners.
  • Supervising the Membership and Communications Coordinator and working with the volunteer company secretary and bookkeeper to ensure deliverables for board meetings etc are completed on-time and to a high standard.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Demonstrated commitment to the advancement of women’s sport, with proven relationships, networks and reputation in sport or a related field.
  • Proven experience delivering impactful programs in sport, gender equality or related contexts, and demonstrated experience in measuring and reporting on the outcomes and effectiveness of these initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing executive-level support to and working with a board or leadership group.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to enhance the impact of programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present reports and updates clearly and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management, including in a remote working environment.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in and understanding of the Australian football ecosystem.
  • Tertiary qualifications in sports administration/governance, communications/media, law, business or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector, including in fundraising, philanthropic engagement and/or grant applications.
  • Experience in a member based organisation, including reporting to a volunteer board.
  • Experience engaging with media, including representing an organisation and advocating for policy change.
  • Experience navigating complex multi-stakeholder environments, including engaging with government and non-government counterparts.
