The Role

The Groups Program Coordinator will lead and supervise a team of Group Facilitators who provide high-quality delivery of services to clients and community, in accordance with funding body requirements and the Woodville Alliance’s Policies and Procedures. The Group Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, delivery, performance and quality of services across groups and funding areas throughout CIT. This position has an operational focus and is expected to contribute to the development of strategic initiatives and plans specifically related to school and community programs.

The Groups Program Coordinator role will be responsible for managing the efficacy, planning and training needs of staff who deliver a range evidence-based groups with a strong focus on child-safety and wellbeing. Group-work development and evaluation will ensure their funded program/s meets all necessary outcomes and ensuring that services are aligned to what are current best practice principles in group work is also a requirement in this role.

This role will play a significant part in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including, Department of Education, funding bodies and community leaders to identify additional needs and how they could be addressed by Woodville Alliance. The Group Coordinator will also work with Community Initiatives Managers, to identify emerging issues and the appropriate responses for staff and program needs.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all aspects of service delivery within their team
  • Liaison and collaboration with partner agencies and the funding body
  • Leadership, development and continual improvement of people and services
  • Quality and performance of services delivery including collecting and reporting data
  • Community and stakeholder engagement
  • Contribution to service design, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Ensuring that services are client focused and service delivery is compliant with all regulatory standards and funding requirements

Requirements

  1. Bachelor level degree in the areas of Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2 years’ practical experience in supervising staff delivering services to children and/or young people in the delivery of outcomes focused group work, case work and/or support services to children and families.
  3. Extensive knowledge and practical experience of group work theory and delivery including therapeutic and/or evidence-based programs.
  4. Experience in the delivery of programs to culturally and linguistically diverse communities, ATSI and an understanding of the diverse needs of clients.
  5. Sound computer skills and experience with collecting data, data bases and writing reports.
  6. Experience in developing and leading complex programs/services in the delivery of high-quality, consumer and/community services.
  7. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  8. Extensive knowledge in early intervention, child & family services, child protection including legislation and regulations.
  9. Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed and culturally competent practice and application.
  10. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of program budgets.
  11. Understanding of safe work practices and management of risk.
  12. Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively in a multi- disciplinary team.
  13. Collaboration and networking skills experience with schools, services and/or other community networks.
