The position

The Country Impact Manager (CIM) will lead WVA’s relationship with WV Field Offices in Somalia, including overseeing the management of the full portfolio of projects within those offices that are funded through WVA. The role will be required to build collaborative relationships across WVA and engage/support a number of external stakeholders to contribute to WVA’s evolution as an Impact Business organisation.

Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.

Your responsibilities:

• Strategic engagement with WV Field Offices (FOs) and other implementing partners at the critical phase of the project cycle
• Ensure the portfolio is fully compliant with donors’ and WV standards and other fiduciary requirement and delivered to the highest quality. Through these projects, establishing a platform for enhanced engagement with institutional donors, partner agencies, corporates, individual supporters and major donors.
• Support WVA acquisition of institutional and non-institutional grants as a key contributor.
• Support Field Offices to respond to ALL humanitarian emergency responses, and occasional lead Cat III emergencies responses in country(ies) outside FS-HEA portfolio, for a minimum of 12 months.
• Support a group of CIMs from other team to learn and manage humanitarian responses through ‘buddy system’.
• Manage WFP projects within the portfolio and ensure timely funding commitment to support the programs. When WVA is the Coordinating Partner, coordinate critical communication between Support Offices and Field Office, and organise quarterly Program Committee meeting to support the Field Offices
• Collaboration with key internal stakeholders including members from Field Impact, Marketing, Private Funding and Retail to contribute to delivery of Enterprise Business Plan, to coordinate engagement with Field Offices and be called on for technical support.
• Contribution to the development and refinement of key business processes, including grant management processes, tools and resources.
• Conduct remote and desk monitoring on field programming and financial reporting, to ensure projects are on track and meet donors/WVA fiduciary requirements.

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with project management experience and who is excellent at building cross culture relationships. 

You will have:

• Minimum two years’ experience working in fragile countries managing humanitarian operations  
• Significant complex grant management experience, ideally with a grant portfolio
• Understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations. Knowledge of DFAT and the requirements of the AHP and ANCP Program is helpful 
• Knowledge of humanitarian principles, disaster management cycle and the project cycle.
• Understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms and the international humanitarian system
• Influencing and Negotiation skills, including relationship management with public donors
• Program and project management experience, including an understanding of contracting and contract management as well as risk management 
• Relevant tertiary qualifications: these may include International Relations/International Development, Humanitarian Assistance, legal, or a relevant technical field.
