As part of the delivery of a national consumer awareness campaign, Wounds Australia is forming a Consumer Advisory Group (CAG).

Members will take a key role in shaping the campaign, which aims to raise awareness of how to properly treat wounds, where to go for help if a wound gets tricky, the care needed for chronic wounds, and how to prevent wounds by looking after skin.

Responsibilities:

• One online meeting every three months (minimum commitment), which will require a small amount of pre-meeting reading or viewing (around 1 hour pre-meeting)
• Providing your perspective on how to reach people in your community and appropriate methods of communication
• Other duties on a voluntary basis, including providing advice when needed, sharing your story, media appearances or community activities. These will all be organised in advance and group members' health and other commitments will be taken into consideration.

Who we are looking for:

• People living with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, lymphoedema, vascular diseases, a missing limb, or post-surgery complications (including C-sections)
• Older adults and people caring for an older adult
• People living with, or caring for someone with, a condition that makes them vulnerable to developing wounds.

Wide representation is important for this group. If you're from a First Nations background, a CALD community, live in a remote area, or have close connections with vulnerable communities, we strongly encourage you to apply.

Remuneration:

This is a volunteer role. However, group members will be paid an honorarium for each meeting attended. Any additional costs of participating in the group will be covered by Wounds Australia at discretion.
