Canberra Community Law is looking for a Civil Justice System Mapping Project Lead to work on an exciting new project aimed at increasing access to justice for people with disability in the ACT. This is a part time position (2 days per week) or equivalent for 6 months.

About Us

Canberra Community Law (CCL) is a leading not for profit community legal centre in the ACT and its region, committed to social justice and human rights. As Project Lead for our new Civil Justice System Mapping project, this position with work with our dynamic Disability Law team including our Disability Justice Liaison Officer to conduct research and interviews to produce a report that maps pathways through civil legal processes.

The project will focus on the following key areas of civil law:

  • Care and Protection
  • Discrimination
  • Guardianship
  • Mental Health
  • Housing Tenancy

Key Aspects of the Role include:

  • Conduct research into common pathways into the specific legal sector areas (as noted above)
  • Conduct interviews with stakeholders with relevant expertise including community organisations and government departments
  • Produce a high-level report
