About the role

Wunan manages Ningkuwum-Ngamayuwu the Child and Parent Centre (CPC) in Halls Creek. Wunan is seeking a suitably qualified person to build and support the capacity and confidence of Aboriginal parents to better engage in the education of their children. This position will be responsible for planning all education programs of the CPC and being involved in running them.

The role will engage with community and work with other partners in the delivery of programs and services.

Key Duties:

  • Lead a team of Education Advocates
  • Community engagement to inform on-going service delivery and development of CPC activities.
  • Plan and program service delivery
  • Assist the CPC Coordinator with the development of funding applications, budget preparation, policies and procedures and reporting against KPIs

Essential:

  • Early Years Teaching qualification or significant equivalent experience
  • Experience working in early years education / care services or similar sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work effectively with the community and other stakeholders.

Essential:

  • Indigenous Australian
  • A strong understanding of Indigenous people in general, and of Indigenous people and communities in the East Kimberley in particular

Pre-employment requirements

  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check(not older than 6 months)
  • Current Working with children clearance
  • Current Australian unrestricted ‘C’ class Driver’s license
