The Kimberley Education Excellence Program (KEEP) is seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator to join our team.

Located primarily in Kewdale (Perth Metropolitan), WA, with some travel required within the Kimberley and intra-state, this role reports to the Manager of Accommodation Programs and House Parents Kewdale. The position has a salary bracket of $70,000 to $80,000 per annum, plus superannuation and salary packaging benefits. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the KEEP Program, engaging with students, families, and the community, and providing administrative support.

Your role will include facilitating student engagement activities that focus on social, emotional, and wellbeing in collaboration with the Wunan team and stakeholders; engaging with students’ families to provide additional support to students; assisting with travel logistics as required; and providing administrative support to the KEEP team.

Key Duties will include:

  • Program coordination and support to ensure the smooth running of the KEEP program
  • Engaging with and between students, parents/guardians, ABSTUDY and other stakeholders as required
  • Managing ABSTUDY travel requests, assist with applications, and ensure safe travel arrangements for students and parents/guardians
  • Overseeing student recruitment, interviews, and enrolment procedures
  • Promoting the KEEP program through newsletters and other materials as required
  • Collaborating regularly with our partner school and other services.
  • Working in conjunction with KEEP staff and house parents to support students.

Selection Criteria will be based on the following:

  • Demonstrate understanding and experience in working with Aboriginal people, particularly ability to relate to young people from the Kimberley.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with cultural appropriateness.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both in a team and independently
  • Committed to the core mission of Wunan
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance

Desirable:

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australian
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or other equivalent vocational or tertiary level qualification in Social Work/Youth Work or minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Drivers Licence (C class) and current Light Rigid (LR class) licence to drive a 14-seater bus

Pre-employment requirements

  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (not older than 6 months)
  • Current Working with children clearance
  • Current Australian unrestricted ‘C’ class Driver’s license with LR class (or agreed commitment to obtain within 1 month of appointment)
