Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation delivering primary health care services to the Aboriginal people in Katherine and surrounding communities. Wurli prides itself on delivering a range of health services to the community in a style and manner that makes clients fell welcome and comfortable. Services include acute and general care, chronic disease, men's health, women and children’s health, alcohol and other drugs and a range of social and wellbeing programs and client support services.
The Connecting Pathways Initiative is a program designed to deliver a holistic healing activity that supports local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, men, young people, children and their families, including grandparents and carers, who are, or at risk of, experiencing family violence to heal from all forms of family violence.
The role of a Counsellor in this area of our service is to deliver activities that deliver an age targeted family violence healing initiative, healing activities that supports local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men by equipping them with practical tools and skills to recognise and prevent family violence and make meaningful contributions to their family, community and culture and deliver family violence prevention and education healing activities.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
