About Us

The Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation is a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic.). We represent the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Traditional Owners of Melbourne and the Greater Melbourne region, and we take great pride in our responsibility for protecting and managing Aboriginal cultural heritage objects and places on Wurundjeri Country. The Corporation offers a range of cultural services including cultural heritage consultation, environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremonies, research, and cultural consultations.

About the role

The Ballerrt Mooroop Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing the development and implementation of initiatives at the Ballerrt Mooroop site. This role is crucial for fostering collaboration between Merri-bek Council, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, and the local First Peoples community to secure and develop the site for future generations. The Coordinator will lead advocacy efforts, foster stakeholder engagements, and oversee project activities aimed at supporting the cultural and social needs of the First Nations community in Merri-bek and Hume.

About you

You will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar project coordinator role and a demonstrated ability to lead campaigns focused on cultural heritage, and community development within First People communities.

You will have proven experience in fostering relationships with First Peoples and First Peoples community organisations. You will also have experience in effectively communicating and collaborating with various stakeholders, including government entities and/or businesses. A creative problem solver, you are committed to continuous improvement.
