The Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation is a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic.).
We represent the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Traditional Owners of Melbourne and the Greater Melbourne region, and we take great pride in our responsibility for protecting and managing Aboriginal cultural heritage objects and places on Wurundjeri Country.
The Corporation offers a range of cultural services including environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremonies, research, and cultural consultations.
The Education Unit brings Wurundjeri Culture to life for tens of thousands of people living on Wurundjeri Country through its Cultural Awareness Training, education programming, workshops, guided tours, and in-classroom activities for kindy-kids all the way through to high school, university, and corporate clients.
As our vision for the department continues to grow, we are pleased to be recruiting for additional educators to join the team. Seeking experienced Women's and Men's business educators, who, in addition to strong cultural knowledge of Aboriginal history and issues, have experience, skills, and a passion for cultural practice works, such as weaving, art, making, woodwork, performance, dance, yidaki, language and storytelling. As well as those with specialist experience around archaeology, cultural heritage, land management and ecological and environmental work.
Current positions include: Senior Cultural Awareness and Cultural Heritage Educators, Early Education teachers, Ecology and Environmental specialists, Traineeships, and part-time and casual educators.
