The Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation is a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic.).
We represent the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Traditional Owners of Melbourne and the Greater Melbourne region, and we take great pride in our responsibility for protecting and managing Aboriginal cultural heritage objects and places on Wurundjeri Country.
The Corporation offers a range of cultural services including environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremonies, research, and cultural consultations.
The Education Unit brings Wurundjeri Culture to life for tens of thousands of people living on Wurundjeri Country through its Cultural Awareness Training, education programming, workshops, guided tours, and in-classroom activities for Kindy-kids all the way through to high school, university, and corporate clients. The start date for this position is Tuesday 28th January 2025
As our vision for the department continues to grow and we are pleased to now be recruiting for a senior educator, focusing on Cultural Awareness and Cultural Heritage education.
As an identified position, and we are seeking an experienced Women's or Men's business educator, who, in addition to having strong cultural knowledge of Aboriginal history and issues, has specialist experience in cultural heritage legislation and operations, archaeology, environmental studies and similar.
Additional knowledge, skills, and a passion for cultural practice works, such as woodwork, making, weaving, art, performance, dance, yidaki, language and storytelling would also be welcomed.
