The Narrap Unit is the Natural Resources Management Department of Wurundjeri Corporation and is centred on asserting the rights and responsibilities of Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people to Country.
Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, this full time, senior leadership role will be responsible for:
- overall leadership of the Unit, as well as managing 5 direct reports (Assistant Manager, Water Unit Manager, Project Manager, Forest & Fire Lead and Liaison Officer) and mentoring younger Wurundjeri staff including Trainees
- delivery of operational, strategic, governance, compliance and financial requirements, obligations and processes of the Narrap Unit
- liaison and engagement with internal and external stakeholders including CEO, Board, partners and government bodies
- developing professional and detailed briefs, recommendations, submissions, policies and reports in a timely manner
- developing, managing and reporting on budgets and project plans
The successful candidate will hold:
- a strong track record in a similar role associated with environmental management or NRM
- high levels of business and financial acumen
- superior written and verbal communication skills
- strong people management skills
- knowledge and appreciation of Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung culture, history and connection to Country and waterways and the ability to carry out tasks in a culturally sensitive and confidential manner
