About the opportunity

We are seeking a capable administrative manager to support our firm’s operations in Sydney and Canberra.

The position is a permanent, full-time role located in our Sydney CBD Office.

However, we will consider for the right candidate part-time arrangements.

We will certainly be flexible for those that have children or other commitments which may require alternate work arrangements from time to time.

We will train the right candidate in our administrative and accounting systems. We hope the candidate in this role will stay and grow with the firm over several years.

The Role

This role involves providing support to two partners and a broader team of lawyers, paralegals and support personnel.

You will support the practice by managing administrative matters and the firm’s accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level secretarial and administrative support
  • Diary management including organising client meetings and facilitating travel arrangements
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of pre-bills and accounts on a monthly basis
  • File management and handling including opening and closing matters
  • Attending to account enquiries from barrister's clerks and third-party experts
  • Manage general accounts, reporting, monthly billing, and expenses
  • Monitor and undertake trust accounting exercises with a strong attention to detail

Skills & Experience

To excel in this high-level role, you need:

  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Experience in a legal administrative or secretarial role
  • Experience with billing or accounting
  • Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills
  • Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
