Yalari is seeking an experienced Administration Officer to join our Business Services team helping support our organisation to deliver generational change for Indigenous Australians through education.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will contribute your administrative and organisational experience and skills to deliver on the organisation’s objectives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the efficient running of our Helensvale Headquarters including mail and post, printer/photocopier, phones, security and keys, kitchen and staff amenities, pest control, air-conditioning maintenance, and maintenance of staff contact list.
  • Coordinate property maintenance approved activities for HQ and the Yalari Ready house.
  • Support the Head of Philanthropy with event coordination tasks and general administration.
  • Support the Operations Manager to run the Volunteer program which manages individuals who volunteer across events, tutoring and other initiatives.
  • Support the Operations Manager across several back-office functions including office administration, finance, safety, compliance and the quality management system (document control).
  • Monitor several shared inboxes and distribute accordingly.
  • Greeting visitors and answering the headquarters phone.
  • Other administrative duties as directed and within capacity.

The ideal applicant will:

  • Have experience working in an administrative role in either general administration or as executive assistant.
  • Be able to organise their workload to ensure the priorities are delivered on-time.
  • Possess a positive and outgoing nature who is service-oriented.
  • Possess excellent written communications skills and a great phone manner.
  • Be relationship focussed – we work with an extensive stakeholder network such as First Nations families, schools, First Nations Communities and their Elders, Government departments, donors, business service suppliers and with First Nations children and young professionals.
  • Have a strong aptitude for IT and software.
  • Be a positive team player with an ability to work autonomously and at times self-directed.
