About Unison

Unison is a not for profit organisation that provides a diverse range of housing services across Victoria, including social housing, affordable housing, private rental, transitional housing and owners corporation services.

We provide affordable housing, and work to reduce disadvantage and social exclusion for people who have previously been homeless, by helping to create communities around them. Unison also assists over 3500 people each year who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

About the role 

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities the role is responsible for people management, organisational leadership and promotion of a positive culture to deliver facilities management services. 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Co-ordinate the day to day operations and resourcing of the facilities team to ensure assets are compliant with relevant codes, acts and regulations as determined by statutory authorities and regulatory bodies, as well as Unison policies and procedures.
  • Act as a first point of contact to other employees for the facilities team and provide assistance to resolve queries. 
  • Establish Asset Management procedures and work practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and contribute to the development of organisational policies.  
  • Provide expert advice based on asset management best practice and manage complex facilities issues. 
  • Be rostered as on-call escalation point for out of hours facilities emergencies.

About you

To make this role a success, we are seeking a person with:

  • 3+ years demonstrated experience and success in a property related role. 
  • Commitment to social justice and desire to promote and model the values of Unison in all interactions with employees, tenants and clients and the broader community 
  • Positive and inclusive leadership style and approach to team management.
  • Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and an ability to negotiate and influence a range of stakeholders.

  • Permanent, Full-time position
  • Salary $90,437 (plus super, salary packaging and annual leave loading)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% annual leave loading
  • Salary packaging option of up to $15,900 tax free
