Job Summary

We are seeking a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health Team at Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services Ltd. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team to provide support and therapy to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living on Darkinjung Country, Central Coast. This role will involve working with participants under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Medicare, and fee for service arrangements. The Occupational Therapist will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver ongoing therapy to promote holistic health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of participants' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities
  • Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings
  • Provide ongoing therapy sessions to address participants' occupational needs
  • Collaborate with other members of the Allied Health Team to ensure coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate documentation of participant progress and treatment interventions
  • Educate participants and their families/caregivers about therapeutic strategies for maximising independence
  • Keep up-to-date with best practices in occupational therapy through professional development opportunities
  • Attend clinical supervision sessions as required

Skills

  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with participants, their families/caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments using standardised tools.
  • Proficiency in developing individualised treatment plans.
  • Competence in delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent organisational skills for managing caseloads efficiently.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  • Graduates highly encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent degree from a recognised institution.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Registration with OT Australia.
