We’re looking for an Events Coordinator to join YFS—a dynamic role supporting YFS’s mission by coordinating community and organisational events that align with our strategic goals. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team, you’ll play a vital role in planning, facilitating, and ensuring the success of events that build community connections and elevate YFS’s brand presence across Logan and beyond.

This is a part-time, three-day-a-week opportunity, but we’re open to flexibility for the right applicant. The role would be required to work outside of standard business hours at times, should events require it.

About the job

  • Role location: Slacks Creek
  • Role type: Permanent, Part Time position
  • Pay range: $97,689 to $102,114 a year (pro rata for part time hours) based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available.

We’re seeking a proactive and skilled Events Coordinator to manage event logistics, collaborate with internal and external partners, and drive audience engagement. This role is essential to delivering events that foster community support for our mission and showcase YFS’s commitment to creating a unified, safe, and inclusive community

In this role you will:

  • Event Planning and Management: Plan, coordinate, and manage YFS events, overseeing logistics, risk management, vendor coordination, and location sourcing to ensure seamless execution.
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in community events, building awareness and fostering meaningful interactions that reflect YFS’s mission.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to identify event opportunities and promote YFS’s involvement in community and sector-wide initiatives.
  • Administration and Reporting: Maintain accurate event records, including budgets and schedules, and report on outcomes to inform strategic planning.
  • Brand Management: Ensure branded merchandise aligns with YFS’s goals for community outreach and engagement.

About you

Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related role description available from our careers page, ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Project Management Skills: Proven experience in planning and executing events, including resource and logistics management.
  • Community Engagement Focus: Strong relationship-building skills, ensuring positive and inclusive interactions with community stakeholders.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce reports, presentations, and promotional content.
  • Organisational Excellence: Ability to manage competing demands, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside standard hours for event coordination as needed.
