YFS has received new funding from the Brisbane South Primary Health Network for a long-term healing and recovery program for victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence. We are looking for a Healing and Recovery Case Manager to join our dedicated domestic violence team servicing Scenic Rim, Jimboomba and surrounding areas.

The Healing and Recovery Case Manager walks alongside domestic, family, and sexual violence victim-survivors providing long-term case management support to clients throughout their recovery journey to meet their goals. This role provides ongoing wraparound responses to victim-survivors of Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence in order to foster healing and recovery.

About the job

  • Role location: Jimboomba
  • Role type: Permanent full-time, 9-day fortnight
  • Pay range: $97,689 a year, with salary packaging exempts from Fringe Benefits Tax available

In this role you will:

  • lead the provision of case work to address the safety, recovery needs, and wellbeing of victim-survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence
  • provide on-going assessments of lethality and risk
  • complete intakes as referrals are received to assess eligibility into the program
  • develop, implement, and review safety plans relevant to domestic, family, and sexual violence risk as well as suicide
  • assess the needs of victim-survivors and develop a case plan to focus on agreed goals to improve recovery
  • support access to information and referrals to relevant services to address health, parenting, financial, employment support, legal, and other counselling needs
  • provide ongoing specialist case work and advocacy to resource victim-survivors in their future including EVP, Victims Assist applications, Victims Register, relevant support letters, and service engagement etc.
  • provide psycho-social support and advocacy to survivors to navigate systems such as forensic, health, wellbeing, and criminal justice.

About you

  • evidence of a domestic and family violence framework underpinned by a gendered perspective of men’s violence against women which considers DFSV as both a manifestation and driver of unequal power
  • knowledge, skills, and proven experience in empowering victim-survivors experiencing domestic, family, and sexual violence, abuse, and coercive control through a trauma informed framework to increase safety and wellbeing
  • understanding of the impact of domestic, family, and sexual violence and abuse on victim-survivors, attachment, and parenting
  • working knowledge of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and knowledge of court and legislative proceedings as they relate to the Act
  • demonstrated understanding of The Domestic and family violence services practice principles, standards, and guidance, The Domestic and Family Violence Information Sharing Guidelines and The Common Risk and Safety Framework including risk and lethality indicators
  • developed understanding of trauma-informed practice and how it pertains to working with survivors of sexual assault
  • thorough understanding of the dynamics and impacts of sexual violence, as well as experience providing support to survivors
  • demonstrated knowledge and skills aligned with intersectional feminist practice
  • experience working in case management roles providing risk assessment, needs assessment and safety planning.
