Are you passionate about supporting young people in your community? We have an exciting opportunity for a Youthlink Intake Worker to play a pivotal role in assessing and guiding referrals for the YFS Youth Services.

We’re looking for an applicant with great communication skills and an understanding of issues contributing to young people to fulfil this role. You will need to be practical, flexible and have a high level of empathy.

About the job

  • Role location: Slacks Creek
  • Role type: Permanent, full-time
  • Pay range: $79,388 a year/$40.05 an hour based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available.

As the first point of contact, you will engage with families, community stakeholders, schools, and government departments to ensure the right support for young people aged 12 to 21 in the Logan/Redlands area.

Your work will help young people achieve:

  • Positive relationships with family, friends, and the community
  • Engagement in education, training, and employment opportunities
  • Safe, healthy, and violence-free lives
  • Secure and stable housing environments

About you

Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related role description available from www.yfs.org.au/work-for-us, you’ll be a great fit if you can:

  • Assess the suitability and eligibility of all referrals coming into the program
  • Provide compassionate and effective communication with young people and their families
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including community organisations, schools, and government departments
  • Redirect referrals as needed to other relevant YFS programs and services
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions and outcomes
