We are looking for a human services graduate, with strong connections to Aboriginal and Torres communities and culture, to lead Yiliyapinya’s evaluation and research program in conjunction with external researchers and evaluators. Evaluation and research experience and/or practical experience in the human services sector would be highly valued.
This is a part time position (15-20 hours a week) for a year that would suit a student undertaking higher education. The position is based at Inala.
Yiliyapinya is an Indigenous led, not-for-profit organisation that has a passion for working in a culturally safe and personalised way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait children and young people who are struggling to find their way. We focus on giving our participants and those who work with them, an understanding of their brain and how to heal and reconnect. Yiliyapinya is a leader in Brain Health and Healing in Australia.
This is an invaluable opportunity to grow your skills in culturally-ed, participatory evaluations following ethical protocols for evaluation and research involving Indigenous peoples. In a safe, supportive environment, you will connect with and work with Indigenous community members, children and young people, other service providers, external evaluators and researchers
As our Evaluation and Research Manager you will work with the Evaluation Management Team to support and undertake evaluation and research activities that provide a comprehensive understanding of the systems and processes that support Yiliyapinya programs, the critical elements of the services delivered and the outcomes and impacts of the programs. This work will contribute to continuous improvement, guide the scaling up of the program and support future funding applications.
You will report directly to the CEO and be supported by experienced cultural and evaluation advisors.
Ideally the position will be placed by a First Nations person. However Non-Indigenous people who meet the above criteria may apply and in the event of their success, would work with a cultural mentor.
