Thebarton Aquatic Centre is owned by the Department for Education and managed by YMCA South Australia. At its core, Thebarton Aquatic Centre has a strong focus on educational outcomes, swimming lessons, delivery of community sporting club outcomes and recreational swimming. Thebarton Aquatic Centre has undergone an $8m renovation in 2024 and is set to open in mid-July 2024.
The role of the Centre Manager is pivotal to the success of YMCA South Australia (“the Y”) and the achievement of the Y’s mission and vision. They will lead the YMCA’s activities and development in area of aquatics and recreation while achieving key result areas of compliance, safety, financial and community engagement.
Strong local leadership, innovation will ensure the YMCA is providing the desired impact within local communities to deliver a meaningful and caring customer experience. The Centre Manager will be highly visible working closely with the centre’s leadership team, user groups and key sports forming strong relationships for improved access and health outcomes. A key responsibility will be to work in partnership with key stakeholders to provide a holistic wellbeing and social connection opportunities that meet the needs of the broader community.
