ABOUT US:

Yorgum was established in 1991 by a group of Aboriginal women, some of whom worked in women’s refuges, who were concerned about the lack of appropriate counselling support for Aboriginal people experiencing spiritual, emotional and psychological pain. They founded a service with a ‘healing’ approach rather than an ongoing, crisis-driven ‘patch-up’ approach.

Yorgum offers all Aboriginal people and their families autonomous, community-based healing services that are culturally secure, trauma-informed and work within an Aboriginal Family Worldview.  

THE ROLE:

This position is responsible is responsible for creating visually engaging designs that reflect our cultural values and support the communication of key messages to our community and stakeholders.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

To be considered for the role, you will be able to demonstrate the following experience and abilities: 

• Diploma in Graphic Design, or equivalent relevant qualification, or relevant experience, with demonstrated portfolio.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A deep understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture, design principles, and community engagement. 
• Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal Terms of Reference and cultural competency.
• Demonstrated ability to work constructively as a member of a team and independently.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL NEED TO SUPPLY:
