Your Choice Supports (YCS) is a NDIS registered boutique disability support provider, based on the west side of Brisbane. Our mission is to provide holistic and high-quality support to enable people to have choice and control in their lives. YCS offers multiple services including Short-Term Accommodation, Community Access, SIL, In-Home and Daily Living Skills Hub.

The Role:

We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for working in the disability industry and someone with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships. We look for people with strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and people who love working collaboratively as part of our team. There are always opportunities to progress with us so please let us know if you have leadership aspirations in future too.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Empowerment and Personalised Care: Develop a deep understanding of each individual's unique needs, preferences, and goals.
2. Daily Living Assistance: Assist people with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation, while respecting their dignity and promoting their independence.
3. Skill Development: Collaborate with people to implement tailored strategies to enhance their independence and life skills.
4. Community Engagement: Encourage social interaction, fostering meaningful connections, and promoting a sense of belonging.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of people's progress, incidents and areas of note. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
6. Safety and Well-being: Follow established protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies, and manage challenging behaviours.

To be considered for the role you need:

• Prior experience working in Disability, level 2.1 or higher on the SCHADS award.
• Availability to work short shifts, evenings, sleepovers and weekends at times (essential)
• Available to work Logan and Western Corridor (Forest Lake, Springfield, Ripley, Oxley)
• A genuine passion for working with individuals with disabilities and improving their lives
• NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
• Valid First Aid and CPR
• NDIS Orientation Module
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid Australian Driver's License (or equivalent)
• Proven industry experience
• Sound understanding of the NDIS and the ability to support individuals to achieve their goals in a person-centered environment.
