your opportunity

Reporting to the Performance and Evaluation manager the Senior Data Analyst will support program performance reporting services for yourtown and contribute to improving the delivery of services for clients, and the development of evidence-based practice.

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake good quality data and statistical analysis
  • Develop data visualisations that meet the needs of stakeholders
  • Collect, analyse and report on program and service performance and trend data to support yourtown’s services and programs and strategic priorities
  • Identify areas for automation and/or improvement in data analysis and/or reporting and utilise technical skills in R, SQL, and PowerBI to progress agreed projects
  • Provide technical support to team members through detailed data analysis, ensuring high-quality information is provided to stakeholders; and
  • Analyse data for the development and preparation of media messages, publications, and other resources.

what we are looking for

  • Bachelor level qualification in data analytics, economics, science or similar, coupled with demonstrated relevant experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to use data visualisation software like Power BI or Tableau to produce engaging analytics coupled with demonstrated knowledge of R and SQL.
  • Strong numerical skills and a good understanding of statistics, performance reporting, and the use of statistical techniques to interpret and understand data.
  • A demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of software to perform and present analytics.
  • Excellent relationship building and influential skills and the ability to story tell with data.
  • Strong written communication skills, with proven experience in preparing complex reports.
